Best Vegan Food In Sihanoukville Goal

If you’re a vegan traveling around South East Asia, it can be challenging as many curries contain fish stocks and meat pans being used for cooking Vegan dishes, sadly! But Sihanoukville is expanding rapidly, and I thought it would be interesting to see how the vegan scene is.

Sihanoukville is quite a promising place in terms of vegan options, and you should be getting excited if you’re heading that way. There must be at least six or seven options for high-quality fresh Vegan food with fantastic ratings on this coastal haven.

So keep reading to find out exactly where to eat delicious Vegan food that will make you happy inside and out.

Where To Find Snacks

Look out for street food vendors as a lot will do vegan pancakes, grilled bananas, and freshly cut fruit. Every morning in Asia, I woke and would look for a fruit vendor and spend a couple of dollars on prepped fruit with sweet chili paste. The dried-out mango and pineapple was my favorite. You will find fruit vendors/sellers on beaches

Grilled bananas are great and so cheap, we’re talking maybe $0.30 for a portion of 5/6 bananas (Plantin). If you can find a banana vendor, your winning! Phsar Pinichicom & Phsar Leu or Upper Market are too good spots for picking up Vegan vendor snacks.

For the vegan pancakes, you will have to ask the street vendor if they are vegan? if there’s a language barrier, then you can get pancakes from Dao of Life, and their amazing!

The Starfish Bakery & Café

Great little chilled hang-out with homemade food, fresh juices, pastries, and sandwiches that are to die for! The service is excellent overall, with a lot of backpackers and ex-pats coming back for more.

The cafe’s design reminds me of an old Mediterranean French cafe in Marseille with its wicker chairs and high ceiling design. Definitely worth a look!

Maybe not your first choice for Vegan food, but if in the area, give it ago.

Sunset Lounge – Beach Restaurant

This resort is lovely, but you’ve also got to bear in mind that there is a lot of construction work going ahead around this area like the rest of Sihanoukville.

Food portions are excellent with fresh salads, Khmer food, and great wines for you to enjoy while the waves play along in the background.

Again the restaurant is faultless, but the construction can be one to be desired for.

Hi, I’m Ian

I started traveling in 2006 when I was 21 and still today it’s the best experience of my life! I grew up in a rural town in England and I couldn’t wait to get away and explore the big wide world.

My first destination in 2006 was Singapour. After I visited Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, and Laos the dream continued and every day was a new experience with new foods, temples, lush countryside, and quirky boutique hotels. The variance of my days was tremendous from waking up in Jungles to a tropical island sipping an ice-cold beer 24hrs later.

With all this travel experience I started traveltin to help people who want to take the plunge into travel and seek advice. I really want to help people live their dreams and share knowledge and tips to help you have the best trip possible.

If you need anything just ask! I’ll get straight back to you.
